Hi Dserianni

My name is Anna and I happen to stumble on your post dated 25/5/2010 when I came across your grandfather's surname of Tychy (which means quiet).

I know it is only a long shot but when I joined the website in February of this year, I told Hannia that I was researching my father's family, his surname was Tyckyj (it has been spelt and mispelt many times) and she said that the surname means quiet.

It got me thinking that we may be distantly related somehow. I am still waiting for any information from Bad Arolsen in Germany to see if they can find out more about my father's birthplace etc.

My father told me once that his father was called Wasyl and he had I think 7 brothers and some of the brothers as well as Wasyl himself went to America to learn about the forestry waya of life as they lived near a forest and were farmers, so it made me think maybe your grandfather Hryc and my grandfather were brothers. The trouble is the dates I have for my grandfather visiting America on Ancestry.com don't match your dates and I am sure your information will be far more accurate than mine as I have no family to ask.
Do you know if your grandfather had lots of brothers and if he did, do you know their names. When the village Nastoszczyn was mentioned, I noticed that 2 other people with the name Tycha on the manifold list that Hannia provided, who were called Jawdocha and Josia also came from the village of Nastoszczyn, not sure if this is a coincidence or not.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope your search continues to go well.

Kind regards

Anna
