Hello Friends:

I'm new to this site and it may take me awhile to see how it works.
My family comes from Chorostkow and Chlopowka.I have been
researching this area(Ternopil Oblast) for over 10 yrs. and I was
fortunate to be united with relatives I didn't know existed.I visited
Chorostkow in 2006 and 2007

I'm interested in hearing from people who are researching this area.
I have many pictures of Chorostkow,Chlopowka and Uwisla which I'm
willing to share with those who are interested.

This is my second attempt to post a message--I hope that this will appear
in the Genealogy Section.

Thanks for the reply.I'm in need of assistance in searching for my Polish side of my family.My father was
a mixture of Polish and Ukrainian--Our name is Zyma (Zima) on my father's side.On my mother's side our
name was Bieganowski.My parents and grandparents were born in Chorostkow.I was fortunate that my
mom saved her birth and marriage documents which was a great help to me in my search for family.All of
my immediate family is dead except for my sister.

My father was Greek Catholic and my mother was Roman Catholic.In Chorostkow there were both the
R.C. Church and the Greek Catholic Church.My parents fled Chorostkow before the war in 1936.As you
know, after this the Germans and then the Russians took over.The Russians destroyed all the R.C. churches and shipped all the Poles to Poland ( Western Poland).I know the names of my grandparents on my mother's side but have not been able to find their Births,Marriage,Deaths and their parents names.They
were probably born in the late 1880's.

I have been having difficulties finding R.C. Records from Chorostkow.The LDS Centre doesn't have any of
these records.I have been told that they are in the Warsaw Archives.Has anyone had experiences searching in these Archives??I don't know of any RELIABLE genealogists that I can trust.I would appreciate
hearing from anyone who can assist me with regards to reliable people.Several of my friends ended up
paying a lot of money for useless information.

I think that you know of the Genealogist Ihor from Lviv? I hired him and his friend Vitaliy in 2005.
They were instrumental in finding my family from Chorostkow.Small World!!--Ihor ended up being a relative of mine and I had a nice visit with him in Lviv in 2006.We have been in regular contact since 2006.

Hi Hania:

Thanks for taking the time to look up and send me the information--I appreciate it.However,I have gone
through all of these films at the LDS Centre in Hamilton over the past 10 years.I'm going over them again
for a second time because I have found more names that may be related to me.So far I have hit a "Brick
Wall" with regards to my Bieganowski Grandfather--Franciszek,Xaverius (Ksawery) Bieganowski.He was
a well known cabinet maker in Chorostkow.He was married to Maria Kuczer.I have found information on
her and her family but nothing on my grandfather??? I would like to find his birth information, church marrige
information,who his family was etc.I can't understand where this information has gone???

If anyone out there has any ideas please let me know because right now I have no idea where to look.
I'm going to be 70 this year so my time is running out---even though my Bride of 43 yrs. thinks I'll live to
be 90????
