Baptismal Certificate in Ukrainian
I have a baptismal certificate for my grandmother from 1893. It is written in Ukrainian with perhaps some Russian and Hungarian as well.
Does anyone know how I could have this document translated? Also, would the name of the church be on this certificate? If so, where would it be located. I know it is from Ungdaroc, I think around Dratzvi? I have had this document looked at but because it seems to mix several languages it is difficult to transcribe. Thanks. |

Welcome mid757.
I have come across Dravtsi (äòá÷ã¶) before. Today it is a micro-district (suburb) of Uzhorod, the capital of Zakarpatska oblast/region, and tough to find on a map. It was formerly called Darocz. Apparently it was founded in the 13th century and played a very important role for royal hunting. This was the place where the king's falconeers (falcon trainers) lived. I know I have more info someplace. I will look for it. Meanwhile SI will take a look at your document, which I suspect is written in Old Church Slovanic.
