Utishkiv was the birth place of a very famous man for both Ukrainian Americans and Ukrainian Canadians. He was Nestor Dmytriv, the very first Greek Catholic priest to serve as co-pastor for the the Ukrainian Diaspora in America (arrived in 1895) and Canada during the early Great Immigration Period.
Ukrainians in Canada, 1900-1930. - Free Online Library __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Selo/village Utishkiv was founded on the Western Buh River in 1458. Today it still exists w/a population of 894 souls. From late 18th century to 1919 wies/village Uciszków was predominantly a Ruthenian/Ukrainian village with its own Greek Catholic Church. The filial Roman Catholic Church was in Busk. Zloczow was both the POWIAT (administrative district - county) and the GMINA (judicial-tax district) > Lwowskie wojiwodstwo/region > historical Galicia/Halyczyna Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. During the Interwar Period (1919-1938) it became a part of the Tarnipolskie woiwodstwo under Reconstituted Poland's domain. I tried ëÕÃØËÉÊ and other variants of that, but getting nothing in selo Utishkiv. This does not mean that there are no surviving Kucki in the village. Utishkiv is a small village, so you might consider writing the Village Mayor with an inquiry. I can provide you exact address, if you like. Your other alternative is to have a local go to the village and make a personal inquiry on your behalf.
PS> The surname ëÕÃØËÉÊ shows up in both Eastern and Western Ukraine. By profession, individuals w/this surname are everything from opera singers to champion varenyky/perogi eaters.

I just spoke to the Village Mayor. Her name is Tatiana Myhajlovna. She told me that YES there are Kõãëéê families currently living in Utishkiv !!!!! She suggested that you write her a detailed letter regarding your family member that left and she will make an inquiry and pass on your letter to the appropriate family in the village. Folllowing is her address:
