Re LDS..

I am sure that you have posted this before but what is the procedure to go through to obtain access to the LDS records?

There is a Mormon temple..

about a mile from my home. I had never thought about going there before. I would like to see if I can find records which predate 1859 to take things back another generation.

There is no question that LDS has filmed Orthodox Registers for Lashkivka dating back to 1840.

The LDS Family Centers are not always in same location as the Mormon temples. You can easily go to link I provided and check for closest location.

Many thanks...re Hutsuls..

Is your advice in this regard based upon the location or the name? When I look at the ethnographic map from 1910 the various shades of yellow and green are difficult to distinguish...

If you are referring to the Bukowyna map Bukovina Ethnographic Map - Bukovina • mappery, I question the accuracy.
As per this map there are no Lemko in the region. There are Ruthenian and Hucul. The map also indicates the Lipowaner, but does not show any Armenians.

I am sure you will find out as you research your family tree.
