Hannia - have you checked Luhansk region for Olenka Semak? There is quite a number of Semak families in Luhansk and in the Markivsky district: in Krasne Pole, Vesele, Markivka, Pervomaiske, Syganivka, Ternivka and in Luhansk
Aidak Ltd operates in this area - might be the transformed collecitve farm.

Irene, didn't you just tell me that the Semak is fairly common in Ukraine? I take you at your word. You wanted to make contact in Rawa Ruska before pursuing anything else. I agreed with you.

As per Mapquest these are villages within 30 mile radius of Rawa Ruska:

Senkovutse
Seredkevychi
Semerivka
Senativ
Selets

Yes but he gave Olena's location in 1957 - and there are still Semak people at this address!!
Halamai man registered in Rava-Ruska has sold his apartment - I was told by the new owner she would find him - but she has not yet.

Yes Giovanni/ Ivan it is the magnificent and powerful river , and we have a football club with the same name. It’s very nice that you heard about it !

By the way I like to improve my English with Italian TV channel ‘Scuola’ . They have a very good program ‘Il divert englese’. We live very close to each other. Hope one day you’ll come here.

I didn't know about the existence of this channel tv, from us the English is still a mysterious object, who says to know it, in reality he doesn't know how to detach a word...
can I ask you a question, Ivan it is the Ukrainian version of Giovanni? it has a beautiful sound, however.

Yes , Giovanni , it is your true Ukrainian name. It is very nice indeed. I don't know what your age is. If you are young it can be Ivanko - wonderful either. This version is very populan in the region where your grangmother lived. When you are in Ukraine everyone will call you Ivan / Ivanko...

In Ukrainian it looks like ¶÷áî, ¶÷áîëï

Yes Seredkevychi is a good shot - both Semak and Halamai families are to be found there!
