Happy New Year! I posted a little update on Jan.4. I sent a letter to some Kowtuns in Sokolivka village. I was thinking of doing the same with the Novosielskis in Ternopil regions if I could get the adresses. Hello I am looking for some information about a fellow by the name of Ihor Voronchak, he says he is a researcher from Lviv. I'm curious to find out if he really is a researcher. Thank You

You cannot get anyone better than Ihor Voronchak for Ternopil region research. He is a scholar in Lviv, whose roots are in Ternopil. A few yrs ago he wrote a book on families in Ternopil. He is knowledgeable re surnames etc. His rates are fair. His English can be shaky sometimes, but he is getting better and better w/practice. He is very thorough and has contacts at various archival levels in Ternopil region. I recommend him highly and have been doing so for a bunch of yrs. Feedback has always been very positive.

Hello, Hannia You won't believe what happened. Remember the 4 letters I wrote to Sokolivka, I got an email from a 2nd cousin who's son lives on my grandfather Matwej's old property in Sokolivka. We have been talking back and forth for the past couple of days. There are still many questions from both sides of the world. Apparently they to have been trying for many years to make contact also. Thank goodness for modern technology and patience. It sounds like Igor will be in Ternopil this week and he said he will try to see what he can find. Thanks to you and everyone involved in this forum without your guidance and encouragement the searches would have been very difficult. I can only say to those that are still searching, sometimes it may seen futile just keep trying. I will try to make a post every so often just to touch base with everyone.
