Dear Ihor,
Thank you so very much for your information on the Voloshchuk family. I just noticed your reply today! What I am about to share with you was an unexpected situation. Evdokia - born October 18, 1921 passed way on May 3, 2012. Her brother Olexa - born September 23, 1926, suffered a heart attack, and has turned for the worse. Pavlo - born 26.10.1923 was not mentioned to me, and I never asked. Evdokia Shpytkovska's brother Roman came to Canada... had two sons. Evdokia's daughter Jeannnie, is curious to know how her grandmother Eudoxia died. According to her, she thinks that she died in 1936, in Ukraine, and her husband and the children immigrated to Canada in 1939. There would be no way of finding out how her grandmother died, is there? Thank you once again! |

Dear Sylvie!
There are Shershenivka metric books: Borschiv Registry Office: Greek Catholic: Birth 1877-1944, Marriage 1899-1944. Roman Catholic: Death 1880-1910. Lviv archive: Roman Catholic: birth, marriage and death for years 1816-1865 Book of Death (Greek Catholic) no. Maybe preserved tomb in the cemetery in Shershenivka? Igor |

Dear Igor,
So LDS does not have Shershenivka metric books... Borshciv does! I should be in Ukraine in September for a family wedding. But I have no plans on visiting the cemetery to look for Eudoxia Shpytkovska's tombstone. I have been to many cemeteries in Ukraine, and just would not do that again... preserved yes, but not likely!... even though there are many Voloshchuk's still living there, but no Shpytkovsky's. Igor... you are a man of great knowledge, and generous with your information!! Jeannie (Voloshchuk) and I greatly appreciated your help! Thank you! |
