???

I think it could be Hryc, which is variant nick for Hryhorij-Gregory in Ukranian. It's equivalent to Greg in English. Transliterated it would sound like Hrytz. It was a very popular name for Ruthenian/Ukrainian men at the turn of the century. In some cases this name was anglicized to Harry.

Wasko = nick for Wasyl (formal form may also show up as Basilius). Equivalent to Basil in English.

Jan = Polish version of John/Iwan/Ivan

Hric/Hryc = nick for Hryhorij (Gregory). Equivalent to Greg.

Mikolaj /Mykola - Western Ukrainian form of Nicholas.

Nikolaj = Eastern Ukrainian form of Nicholas. Kolya, nick for Nikolai/j, used primarily in E. Ukraine.

Ilko = nick for equivalent name Elias in English.

Anastasia = nicks are Nastunia and Nastia

Marya/Maria = nick & endearment name is Maryska

Michal/Mychajlo = equivalent to Michael in English. In W. Ukraine the nick would be Misko or Miscio and in
E. Ukraine nick would be Misha.

Oleg / Oleh = name as is . Origins are Varangian/Scandanavian. Name of important Prince of Kyiv from 10th century. I grew up w/someone w/that name. Americans called him Olek.

Kaska is nick for Kateryna/Katerzyna. Equivalent to Kathy in English.

Anna is formal for Hania or Nusia or Hanusia.

I have seen Anastasia change to Anna after immigration..

Additionally, Marya could also be nick Marusia.
