I am looking for the sister of my grandmother. Her name is Herta Trunov (or Trunova or Trunow). She also used the name Vera. She was unmarried when she disappeared.

Herta was born on August 12, 1925 in the village of Budoivka, district of Kiev, Ukraine.

She is the daughter of Tichon Trunov and Lina Hoffmann. Herta has a brother, Edward, and a sister, Ella. They live in the United States.

Herta Trunova was last seen in 1945 in Berlin, Germany. Her family was living in Berlin, Germany when she disappeared. It is believed she ran off with a Russian solider for a new life in Russia. But she had German citizenship. I don't know if she was able to travel to Russia.

It is my lifelong dream to find her or her family.
You posted lifelong dream above in March 2009 and were provided leads for your search. Great to hear you had success. How did you find her and/or her family? Was it thru Bad Arolsen Archives or thru Kyiv Archives WW2 Collection?

I haven't found my aunt yet, but I found the family of my grandfather's nephew. We were connected for a few days but then it stopped. I am trying to reconnect with the family. This process to connecting is hard.

I am still waiting for various orgs to give me responses to my search for Herta,

So you haven't heard from Bad Arolsen ? The turn around time for them is 3 months and they do respond either way.
It's odd that you haven't heard from them.

From what orgs are you awaiting a response? I am always interested in new resources.

Vera, remember this post in May on Rootsweb? I am mitehelp. I provided you w/that list of people w/Tuinin surname in Kyiv and you obviously used it and never bothered acknowledging that w/a response. You might think of yourself as knowledgeable finding resources, but you have bad manners and you might never be able to access those resources again.

I offer you just a word of advice in your new endeavor. Make sure you tell your new friends not to forget and thank anyone that does offer some help.
