Was your family from Piryatyn (ðÉÒÑÔÉÎ) in the Poltava oblast/region? If so, are you sure they were from
Piryatyn, a district center town, and not from one of the 30/40 villages in the district itself?

My research data shows that there are 344 individulas w/this surname currently living in Ukraine.

Since many have migrated to larger towns and cities for economic reasons I checked Poltava, the regional capital first.

Voskanyan, Albert . son of Ashotov - telephone # - date of birth - Poltava, Polovka Street , 93/50 (Bldg & Apt)

PS> It's highly likely your familial origin was Armenian ???

Yes, the father was Armienian, his name was Vasilli voskanyan, he was an officer in a soviet Army, as far \as I know he was posted in 1955 to east Germany, what happened to them after that is mystery. The mother name was Natasha (Gerber), the boys name were, Arcadi and Garicck Voskanyan. The boys born in around 1947 and 1949.

I might have some more information later.

Thank you very much for trying to help.
