Information on Kubiw/Trush/Trusz

I am looking for information on Anna Kubiw who married Nestor Trusz/Trush. They were from Zalawie, Terembowla. THey had a son, Micheal Trush born July 24, 1893 in Zalawie. Micheal came here with Nestor to Canada and so the story goes Nestor dropped him off here and returned to Ukraaine becuase all of the family could not go.

I have neer heard of the Kubiw name, I found this out from a document I saw at a heritage site at the National Ukrainian Festival in Dauphin, Manitoba. THere is a house there that used to belong to them there at the site, moved from SIfton.

Any information on Zalawie or Kubiws, or anything at all on Trusz would be helpful.

At the turn of the century Zalawie wies/village Zalawie was hamlet size.

As per Galician Gazetteer the filial Greek Catholic church was in Dolhe. LDS has filmed church registers for Dolhe.
There is an annotation that some of the Zalawie villagers may have attended the GC church in Trembowlya.

Trusz Family

My great-grandfather's grandmother (don't even want to venture what relation she would be to me) was named Anna Trusz. She was born in 1813 and married Nicolai Beszlej. I'd be interested in knowing if you find out more about the Trusz family. Regards!

My uncle by marriage was William/Bill Trush (born 1910-15?) from Cook's Creek, Winnipeg. I know he had brothers who lived all their lives in Winnipeg. and -one who lived in Connecticut. He also had a sister Mary. One brother was named Dan.
There are Trushes who live in the Niagara area in Ontario.

Trush/Trusz and Perchaluk

My great-great-grandparents were Harry Perchaluk and Dora Trush. As far as I know they came from Zalavie, Terebovla, Galicia, Austria. The only information that I have is that they had 3 children: John, Nellie and Petro. Petro was my great-grandfather who married Clara Zadorozny. Clara was born April 20, 1863 to Andrew Zadorozny and Mary Wosowky in the same area of Galicia. Petro and Clara came to Canada in 1896 with some of their children, and more were born where they lived by the Drifting River (later named Valley River), near Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. I only have the names of my great-great grandparents as given by my grandmother Anna Perchaluk who lived to be 100. It would be so great to find any more information about my Perchaluk and Trush/Trusz families from Austria or find if there is any relation to the Trush/Trusz families mentioned in these posts.

Please read following article, which will help you understand where your families originate.

Dora was probably baptised Evdokhia.
