Still hoping for some archival stuff from Kremenchug archives from 19th century:
Grandfather Simon Bernstein born Kremenchug,Poltavska, 1/8/1870.
Could there be a birth listing SOMEWHERE...POLTAVA / KIEV / KREMENCHUG ???

I double checked. Unfortunately there is no change. The Kremenchug locals seem to think all metrykal records for Jewish residents were burned by Nazis.
