hi Hannia , thanks for posting this information about Poltava. I was lucky to find someone who sat for 3 hrs and read through it all , but the names of LITWINSKI-A or JANISEWSKA didn't come up .

I will continue to keep my eyes open. As time goes on, more and more documentation becomes available. ![]() FYI your surname can be spelled either ìÉÔ×ÉÎÓØËÉÊ or ì¦ÔצÎÓØËÉÊ in Poltava/ðÏÌÔÁ×Á. I don't want to raise your hopes too much, but the Lubenskij (Lubny) raion/district was settled mainly by Cossacks, w/some concentration of Poles and Lithuanians.
