Request of Hannia - village info
Hannia has recently posted a writeup on Staromischyna providing earliest dates, size etc.
Would it be possible to get similar info on neighbouring villages such as Pidvolochysk, Zadnishiwka, Myslova and Orzechowiec? I have family ties to all of these. Thanks. Ernie |

Hello Ernie!
I have the info for you. I just need to organize it. Based on your knowledge of Staromiejszczyna, I assume your families were GC ??? Have you done the LDS & Archives research? Have you done the Cadastral research? Given the locations, have you also researched the WW2 obits? Villagers from this immediate area were Ukrainian patriots. Many died for Ukrainian freedom. Have you made contact w/surviving family members in these villages? What surnames are you researching? |

Request of Hannia - village info
Hello Hannia -
Thanks for quick comeback. Yes - family was GC. I have done (and am doing) the LDS research - have 2 microfilm out now. Am disappointed at lack of data for these villages. Don't know how to do Cadastral research. Have not researched yet WW2 obits - may be able to do that here in Toronto, Ontario - don't suppose it is online? ![]() Visited area in 1988 and met surviving family members unfortunately was not interested in family history research then (missed a great opportunity!). Surnames are Czornij (Chorny), Kuczmak (Kuchmak), Motyk (Motek), Huryn (Huren), Melnyk (several spellings), Staryk, Myskiw (Mysko), Matusow, Stasyszyn, Motyka, Maslowski and some others more distant.
