Names of Ukrainian Villages

As per M. Khudash, settlements w/suffix OVKA/IVKA very probably date back to Kyivan Rus
(10th to early 12th century) and Halych-Vohlyn (early 12th -14th century) Eras.

From the 14th century on, place names in what is Ukraine today took on the names of actual
people/land owners.

Stepan Shakh says that settlements with suffix - ychi, -tsi, -ky, -khy date back to the 9th/10th c, and those with -iv ( Kylukiv, Malekhiv, Lviv) to the 13th c.
