Strij mali didushychi/janzcyn peremyslany

Hi everyone....im hoping someone can help me. My dad was born in Mali Didushychi and my mum was born in Janczyn Peremyslany - i would like to find out more about my family and trace ancestors as far back as possible and I havent a clue where to start because of where my parents were born plus I dont speak the language that well and much to my shame can't write Ukrainian. Anyone who has experience in this or can advise on how i start please get in touch...many thanks....Helena

Get in touch with Bybushka and BMarusia - Forum members - who also have relatives in Ivanivka (old name Janczyn).
When were your parents born? I have been to Peremyshliany Reg. Office many times - all records there are in perfect condition and the Chief is very helpful.
Your Dad was born in Striysky district - it is more difficult to obtain records in Stryi than in Peremyshliany.

Thank you - mum was born on 07/10/31 to Anna Kominska (maiden name Pellech) and Illach Kominski - apologies for the spelling but not sure if maiden name and grandad's frist name is spelt correctly......how would i get in touch with the man at reg office???

If I were you I would ask Irene to help you. She is a qualified researcher and she will be very fair w/you.
Most importantly she has access to this District Archives and an ongoing relationship w/Director. She will
help you cut thru the red tape. Otherwise you may have to obtain a PRIVACY RELEASE, which has to be
done thru your nearest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate, and that takes quite a bit of time.

LDS/Mormon Library has filmed some old GC Records for both your ancestral villages.
Those you can research yourself. Irene could fill in the dates/data linking you to these older
records. LDS films are available for rental at nominal cost.
