Translation Needed

Szanowny Panie Frank

Pozdrawiam
Stanisław Pawelec

Post Short translation

So - you need translation from Polish to English?

- I'm a bit busy now - if you need perfect translation - will be able to make it later (or tomorrow) - but shortly:

" - Mr.Pawelec is working only 1 year at his office - and he doesn't know why book pages are missed - as he received books as they are - and people (priests and authority persons) who were responsible before - passed away...- And - as example - for neighboring village Ożanna - there are not any books at all - as they were destroyed during WW2.
- What he (S.Pawelec) can do - send to Mr Frank copies of records from metrical book of marriages."

! - All letter is very polite and diplomatic - but with hints - that Mr S.Pawelec doesn't obliged to do what he is demanded of - so he is asking to take with appreciation all what he is able to do...

Frank,

As per IM, link to Church in Ruins:
Church in Ruins

To better understand the world you're researching read "Bitter Glory: Poland and Its Fate
1918-1939" by Richard Watt. Available in used paperback for nominal amt.
Amazon.com: Bitter Glory: Poland & Its Fate 1918-1939: Richard M. Watt: Books

PS> I would agree to the researcher's terms and politely ask for the marriage records.
Something is better than nothing. I know you are upset, but the world you're researching
is difficult to understand. Maybe down the road you might find some little old lady's children
that have hidden a copy of the church register. You never know. WE DON'T HAVE TOO
MANY HERE THAT ARE FLUENT IN POLISH. We try helping everyone, but this is predominantly
a Ukrainian Forum.

Why not many fluent in Polish? We have several Polish members here, and then Lvivians are also fluent in Polish- at least more fluent than Victor is in English..

Sometimes I can't help but restate the obvious.

So far, Frank has had no takers, except Viktor's loose Polish translation.

Irene, why waste time criticizing? Why not be part of the solution?

OK then - I will translate it in the evening - if there are no volunteers among our Polish Lvivians preferring Ukrainian/Polish war topics instead
