Hi IreneLviv! Thank you so much for the offer to take a picture for me! I'm afraid that I have no idea what any addresses were. I only know our family names: Kurys and Vincent (Wicenty) Weber. Weber supposedly lived in a stone house on Ulicy Zloty (Gold Street?) and that he owned a bakery (Cukiernia?) or shop that made bob-bons, and maybe owned a restaurant (and he also spoke German). An elderly relative remembers walking past a military base of some kind, which was supposedly near Webers stone house, on his way to school in Brody? So, I really dont have any information that would be helpful in locating the home or business.
But, if you end up in any Catholic or Evangelical cemeteries and see any Kurys or Webers, I'd LOVE to see pictures of THOSE tombstones! Unfortunately, I know nothing else of the Weber side than what I've posted... That's the person I'm so desparately trying to find proof of his existence. Everyone knows his name and has stories about our great-grandfather, but not one single document or photo of any kind... It's so SAD! (and frustrating!) ![]() And, I travel around the US a little from time to time, so please let me know if I can get you any pictures over here of anything of interest to you! Respectfully, Christine PS ENJOY your trip!!! THANKS AGAIN for the offer! |

THANK YOU! I've seen pictures of this street before, I just wish I could hop into the picture and start checking out shop names and meet people. Of course, my next stop would be the new museum, and then the cemeteries! I'm thinking that we will have to take a trip to Brody to find out anything official about our mysterious great-grandfather, Vincent (Wincenty) Weber. THANKS AGAIN for the picture! Have FUN in Brody!!!

Well, I am back - give me your e-mail I and I will send you the pictures of the house I was shown by 3 (!) different persons as your restarant and cukernia. By the way, when I walked through this street prior to starting interrogating elder people - my eye stopped on that same house as a possible home for cukernia!
I also have the name of a young researcher who wrote several articles on old German graves in Brody. |

Wow!
Hi! Wow, you must live close to have been to Brody and back again! That must be very helpful in your own research. And, my goodness, that is so kind of you to talk to people and offer me pictures. My email is chrismkaz@aol.com
I look forward to hearing from you and THANK YOU for your kindness! Christine |
