I forgot to mention in my last message that Sophia was a healer.
She used herbs and the "wax" healing of fears (not exactly sure how to describe it but the wax forms to look like the thing you are afraid of.)
Where would she have learned such things?
Can only certain people or family members do the wax spiritual healing?

Thanks for the link to the article on Ukrainian folkhealers. It was very interesting. When I was in Kasperivtsi in 1984, I remember one of my Dad's relatives kind of spitting at me when I met her. She was banishing the evil eye!

My mother-in-law said to cure a migraine, urinate in your hands and wipe it onto your face. To be honest, I never tried it
