attention all genealogy inquiries.
Your ancestors may in fact be Lemko, Rusyn, Boiko or Hutsuls. These people inhabited transcarpathia and Galicia. They are a subethnosis of ukrainians.
When you look at census records you may find a different language or place of origin on each census record. from 1910-1930 For example Austria or Hungary (origin) slavish, slovak, polish, russian or ruthenian (mother tongue) This language would sound like a mix of russian and ukrainian.
