Might anyone be able to help in suggesting a book that would give an account of life in Galicia in the 17th-19th century. I am not so much interested in hardcore historical facts but would like to know more about life in general for peasants during this time, particularly around the Lwiv and Przemysl areas. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've already made the request but I am sincerely hoping there is someone out there who has come across literature depicting life around the turn of the century (19-20th) in Galicia. Does anyone by chance no any good fictional literature or non-fiction? Perhaps someone might know of some films? I did come across one called Austeria (1983) which looks interesting and I am going to order it.

If anyone could help with my request, I would sincerely appreciate it. I have been very successful in finding out more about my ancestors from this former Austrian-Hungarian province, however, it is hard to imagine what life must have been like for them.
