Yes, I have looked at the Halgal Link, much to ponder over, I haven't been so quiet for so long a time. Suddenly my wife clamped an oxygen mask on my face, she thought I had fallen off my perch !
Thank you for your kind offer to unravel any words. Joe. |

After you assemble your Kuliczkowski family tree, you will probably have to move
your research to Poland. Chances are, if there was surviving family after WW2, they were probably repatriated to Poland by 1947. There are records and Halgal has devoted a section just to this subject. You strike me as a jolly person and I hate bringing anyone down, but I thought you should read following: excerpt This system of terror called for victims to be taken from Polish villages, towns and cities, picked at will to satisfy the labor needs of prisons and concentration camps in Siberia. The Poles in Jazlowiec were not exempt from this terror. Some men, like Kazimierz Stanecki, Michal Kuliczkowski, Julian Kurianski and Stanislaw Kowalski, became prisoners and slave laborers in Siberia labor camps of the north taiga. Another group of Polish families, the mayor's family (Kurianskis), the Kowalskis (Wladyslaw and Ignacy), Grzesiowskis, Goldstaubs, Piwowarskis, Staneckis, Baczynskis and some nuns from the convent and assorted others - twenty families in all - were deported to the steppes of Khazakstan to work in collective farms. Most of the victims were rounded up with the assistance of the local Ukrainians. This kind of terror kept the remaining members of the Polish community in total obedience to the new system. jazch10 Joe, additionally there are Kresy Forums dedicated to the subject of Siberia and Khazakstan. Hopefully you will not need the URL's for those. For now it's one step at a time. ______________________________________________ Last edited by Hannia; 21st August 2008 at 12:27. |

Hannia,
Thank you for your kind thoughts, some while ago my UK research revealed sadness, it comes with the territory I suppose. You say ' after you assemble your family tree ' I have only one leaf on it so far. I'm open to suggestions but, I feel I should concentrate on Jazlowiec around 1804 and see what I can locate there. Thank you for your time, Joe. |

Hannia,
I'm convinced the films are coming via a rowing boat across the Atlantic. I have checked with the History Centre my telephone number is still on file so, get a book out and wait for the phone to ring. Thank you for the link to Jazlowiec, whilst in that area I discovered two Kuliczkowski's - Apollinaris and Zygmunt - made contribution's on the site Jazlowc -Wspomienia with Jazlowca and Memories stay in Jazlowcu. An email address was available on the site - brozbar@wp.pl - I mailed and requested information on how I may be able to make contact with the Kuliczkowski's, the silence is deafening, my inbox has gone to sleep with the lack of activity. Why don't people acknowledge ? Joe. |

Hannia,
I viewed the film from the LDS today, without success, but I will try again having established what the headings relate to. Usually my glass is half full - as it is at this moment, scotch and ginger ale - but I have doubts I'll be able to crack this one. Is it possible to obtain the name of a contact for the Roman Catholic Church in Jazlowiec who may be able to access the local records on my behalf ? Joe. |

My question goes unanswered !
Never mind I have made some progress. Recently I discovered a webb site and made contact with Tadeusz Brozbar, it seems he has some information about the Kuliczkowski family. The LDS films I referred to finally arrived, unfortunately I couldn't make much sense of them, so I requested prints be made of the pages I was interested in. My luck was out again, they are virtually unreadable, due to a technical problem at the FHC, absolutely pointless to scan them and seek interpretation. Will keep you posted. Joe 90. |
