Hannia: I was wondering if, in the list of Manchulenko in Chernivtsi, you could tell me which one might be Manoliy, or Georgii. I have friends going to Ukraine in May, and they have said they would try and make contact for me. Thanks

Natalia,

The telephone list may be a hit-miss kind of thing.

Before contacting people in phone directory, have your friends contact the
Village Administrator/Holova Silskoji Rady and inquiry re any surviving family
still residing in your family's ancestral village.

Thank you Hannia. Great idea. Tomorrow the Holodomor torch will be in our community Will go and pay honor. Do you know how one might find out who may have lost family members during that time?

Ukrainian Famine of 1932-1933

As far as I know, there are no official lists of Stalin's Famine Victims.
Although some documentation of directives has come to light, the Russians
to this day have nor owned up to the responsibility for the genocide.

I have just received info that one of the Manchulenko's was born in Vienna. Any ideas how to search this area?
Also to say my friends are in Ukraine now conducting medical missions to 57 villages and I wish I could be there Next year when my new hip heals

Today selo/village Mytkow = Митк╕в in Ukrainian has a population
of 349 people. All I could find out about this village is that it is located
near the Dniester River and has three water mills. Apparently
archeologists have ascertained that the Zastavnivskij raion/district
is rooted in the ancient Tryppilian Culture.

I could not find telephone directory for this district???

Consider writing Halena Pacharniuk, Mytkow Village Mayor, and inquiring
re any surviving family still residing in the village. Communicating in Ukrainian is ideal.

Address:

Пацарнюк, Галина
с╕льський голова
с. Митк╕в
Заставн╕вський р-н
Черн╕вецька обл.
