Searching for Tacjanna PRYCHID

As we know, my wife’ s mother is Tacjanna PRYCHID, born 2d may 1906 in Wroblacyn. We just know that she were living in Normandy (France) between 1934 and WW2. She probably has on other child born before 1934. That’s all that we know. We would appreciate if anyone could help us find any information about Tacjanna PRYCHID or her family. I have no knowledge of Ukrainian language. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome Colgaren!

Tacjanna PRYCHID = Tatianna???/Tania Prychid (ôÁÎÑ ðÒÉÞ¦Ä or ðÒÉÇ¦Ä -
depending on how you pronounce CH)

May 2,1906 - Wroblacyn in Halyczyna (Galicia) > Austro-Hungarian Empire
________________________________________________

From late 18th century to 1919 wies/village WROBLACZYN was
predominantly a Ukrainian community w/its own Greek Catholic Church.
The filial Roman Catholic Church was in Niemerow.
Rawa Ruska was the powiat/administrative district & Niemierow
was the gmina/judicial-tax district > Lwowskie wojiwodstwo >
Galicia/Halyczyna (in Ukr) Province, administered by ethnic
Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. All previous place
names are in Polish. From 1919-1939 this region came under
Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically Poland had not
existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 yrs. Post
World War 2 this region became a part of SSR Ukraine, under
Soviet domain until 1991, when Ukraine became independent.

TODAY selo/village Voroblyachyn still exists > Javorivskij (Javoriv/Yavoriv)
raion/district > Lvivska (Lviv) oblast/region > Ukraine, latest zip code 81011.
The village was established in 1288 on the Serednia River. It is very close to
the Polish border, approximately 8 kms away. Today there are 601 residents
still living there.

on left - border between Ukraine & Poland, count up 5
overlapping village names.

LDS has copied some very old church registers.
1786-1843 LDS film #2043537.

Records above can be examined after you locate Tania's
surviving family.

Since you do not know Ukrainian, consider hiring a local.
It is cheaper than having the Archives do the research.

Unbreakable, also a member here, can help you to obtain
Tania's birth certificate, a list of her siblings, marriage certificate
and her child's birth certificate. He lives in Lviv and could probably
also make a trip to the village and make some personal inquiries for you.
He can take some village pictures for you. His prices are very fair. When
you find wife's family, he could probably help you find a French interpreter,
when you come to Ukraine and visit.

Thank you very much Hannia for your rapid reply.
This information is extensive and useful. Of course, we are very interested if some one can get in touch on our behalf with the administration of Voroblyachyn and get any possible information about Tania and her family (and we are obviously prepared to pay for that). How can we contact this person? Can we communicate in English? (either French or Italian or German).

ôÁÎÑ ðÒÉÞ¦Ä/ðÒÉÇ¦Ä is most likely ðÒÉȦÄ. I found two similar
surnames with suffix KO listed in Lviv Telephone Directory ???

Prychid means ARRIVAL in Ukr.
Prychidko means PERSON ARRIVING.

Many villagers have moved to urban areas for economic reasons.
Telephone listings in Lviv:

ðòéè¶äëï ì.¶. 213206 èïôëå÷éþá ç. 20
ðòéè¶äøëï ó.ð. 592837 íïìïä¶öîá 11á

Please make sure to pass this information on to Viktor.

- don't think so...

Hannia,

Actually Pryhid’ko means more like “stranger”, “resettler”, “immigrant”:

http://www.slovnyk.net/?swrd=ðòéè¶äøëï
http://www.slovnyk.net/?swrd=ðòéè¶äåãø

– and it’s more central- or east-Ukrainian name – I’m very sure that Pryhid’kos have nothing in common with Pryhids – never heard of names here being changed in such a way.

P.S. Colgaren contacted me – thank you once again.
