looking for my parents homes
I live in Argentina, my parents came here from Galitzia (Poland) before the WWII. My father (Dawid Roth) was from Probuzna and he came in 1928. My mother (Freida Rothman) was from Kopyczynce and she came in 1936. Both of these little towns are near Ternopil and Chortkow. My mother told me she lived as a child in a house on a street whose name I don´t know the right way to write it (Ulisa Husiatinsca). I am planning to travel in may to Ukraine, to visit these little towns. I would like to make a research before travelling. I have read others comments in this forum and I have seen that there is not too much improvement in this places. But it would be a great help to me to know more about these places. My Grandfather´s name was Meyer Rothman that was married to Berta Somer and they had a magazine to sell seed and cereals in Kopyczynce. My other grandfather was Wolf Roth that was married to Frima Waisberg and he worked as something like an accountant or auditor of a mill, but I don´t know if the mill was accurately in Probuzna.
If somebody knows something about these places or names or approximately I will be greateful for giving that to me. Berta Roth |

Berta,
I will prepare all details for you a little later today. Have you done any research yet? There is some data online. It is wonderful that you want to walk the streets, walked by your Grandparents. This is a very special feeling to be connected to them and their experience. Will you be traveling as part of a tour or as an individual? _________________________________________ Are you familiar w/the great American film director, Stanley Kubrick? His father was from Probuzna. Last edited by Hannia; 29th January 2008 at 22:53. |

Probuzna, Kopyczynce
Hannia, I will be travelling individual, not with a tour. I will travel with my husband and I am trying to get somebody there that speaks spanish to translate better to us what we see. Do you know how can I get my fathers birth certificate, in what office or institute does he figure. To what Region does Probuzna belongs? I know the american director because of his films but not more than that

Hannia,
