I once spent 2 months in St Petersburg (then Leningrad) -on a mission from my job. I learnt how to enter Hermitage through the exit - and spent many hours there for free - enjoyng impressionists - I preferred them to all the rest.
Voronezh is also a nice city!

Renoir and Rubens are my two loves.

The other memorable place was St. Isaac's Cathedral. The malachite and lapis columns were something one gets to see only once in a lifetime.

hello, Hannia,

I think perhaps to go to Ukraine this year.
I go with a travel agency to arrange this.
I're still deciding anything.
Uzghorod is a beautiful city, cheap hotel, lviv pretty well, and I try to see the ancestral village near Mukachevo.
Mukachevo, the castle must be beautiful too.
for the rest I do not know the area.
Maybe you know the best things to see.
I go maybe to archives uzghorod for my research, but I do not know if I would have access, difficult to read documents in Ukrainian, a part of the records may be in Latin, because it was the Catholic Archives .

David, Contact Yurko_uk . He knows the region very well and could make special suggestions for you. If you decide to make a trip to the Archives in Uzhorod, be sure to make arrangements ahead of time. Think about hiring a personal French Ukrainian interpreter. If you go during summer, make sure to attend one of the wine festivals in the Carpathians. There are spas with special spring waters to cleanse the body and much, much more.
