there and back again - Romanchenko/Miroshnjichenko
Hello!
Here's the story. With time (and self-development) I've started to feel a very strong urge to return to my roots (Ukrainian & Armenian). My great-grandmother was Ukrainian. Me and my mother, we'd like to scrape together all the information we have and find our relatives in Ukraine. Also, I really do wish to learn more about the culture and life of my ancestors - it's very important for me. I can see that many have found useful information thanks to the locals. We're planning a trip to Ukraine to do a research but I'd like to try to find all the possible information (that can be found with the Internet) in advance. With the help of my mother and grandmother I can collect some more information (whatever would be needed, we can try) but the most important is that my great-grandmother had a double name - Romanchenko and Miroshnjichenko. She comes from Dnjepropetrovsk and she lived in Odes as well before coming to Latvia. Please, tell me, how can I get some information on my family? Thanks in advance! |

![]() The people here have been VERY helpful! Make sure to read other people's searches in the genealogy section. . . you can get ideas for ways to search. . . . I never even thought of sending away for my grandma's social security application. Have you tried searching at RootsWeb.com Home Page also? The forums & archives HERE are Full of info! I have found several people with the same surname coming from Ukraine and Russia - I must be on the right track! I don't know for now if they are my relatives but I'll certainly do some research (right now I'm stuck on my University exams and doing everything at the same time..
)! Thank you so much, I didn't even know that there are so many resources on genealogy I'll report when I find something relevant. Right now, familysearch.org is my best bet!
