Metrical records from Sniatyn, 1924.

Hi,
I'm looking for a brith certificate of Bronislawa Wanda Dabrowska Born: Oct 9 1924 reportedly in "Sniatyn" which, at that time, was in Poland.

I'm not very well acquainted with the Ukrainian archive system so I would be greatful if you guys could tell me where to look for this certificate. I hear it might as well be found in Poland (Lubaczów) is that true?

LDS has only filmed RC Records (marriage & birth) for Sniatyn to 1923.

I didn't see Sniatyn listed under Zamosc-Lubaczow Diocese.

I checked Archiwum Główne Akt Dawnych and they show only records to 1900.

The records you are seeking are 84 yrs old and unfortunately
that leaves you at the mercy of the Ivano-Frankivska oblast Archives.
There is no prepayment at the Ukrainian Archives. Once they locate the data,
they inform you as to what material they have found and then provide you w/cost
and method of payment. This particular archives does not have a reputation for
working quickly.

If all else fails, another way might be thru Sniatyn RAHS (District Archives)???
You would need to contact your nearest Ukrainian Consulate or Embassy
and request a PRIVACY RELEASE. Once you obtain the release, you can
then contact District Archives and request a copy of Bronislawa's birth certificate.

Karol,

As per Ellis Island, there is an Anna Dabrowska, Polish girl, emigrating from
Sniatyn and heading for Boston MA in 1906. Her mother's name was Marya.
