Hannia is on a distinguished road
Pomorzany, TODAY POMORYANY.

From late 18th century to 1919 wies/village Pomorzany (Polish name)
was a fair size village w/its own Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic Churches
& its own Jewish Kahal. Zborow was both the powiat/
administrative district and the gmina/judicial-tax district Tarnopilskie
wojiwodstwo > Galicia Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the
Austro-Hungarian Empire. From 1919-1939 this region came under
Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically Poland had not existed
for the previous 125 yrs. Post WW2 this region became a part of
SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain until 1991 when Ukraine became
independent.

Today selo POMORYANY (Ukr name) still exists, however the district
and region has changed. Zolochivsky (Zolochiv) raion/district >
Lvivska (Lviv) oblast/region > Ukraine, latest zip code 80760-761.
(Coordinate Lat: 49.63333 Long: 24.93333). It sits practically on the
border between the Lvivska and Ternopilska oblasts.

Originally Poryany was a wooden fortress. First written mention of the settlement
is made in 1437. In 1456 it became a town and in 1504 it received its Magdenburg
trading and artisan rights. The wooden fortress continued to protect the residents
against the Varangians, and then later the Turks w/the Tatars destroyed the wooden
structure. In the 16th century a stone fortress was built. Then the Polish King Jan III Sobeski
enlarged and improved it, later making it into a residential palace.

During the Stone Age the first settlers here were Greek seamen and fishermen.

Today there are 1500 people still residing in the village.
