Looking for Harasymczuk family - Zbaraz Area
I am looking for any living Harasymczuk in what used to be the Sieniawa, Zbaraz area. I am looking to connect my grandfather John (came to US in 1913) and great grandfather Piotr in through living relatives.
Thanks nowitscome2this@aol.com |

From late 18th century to 1919 Sieniawa was predominantly a
Ruthenian/Ukrainian village w/its own Greek Catholic church. The filial Roman Catholic church was in Zbaraz. Zbaraz was both powiat (adm district) and gmina (judicial/tax district) > Tarnopolskie Wojiwodstwo > Galicia Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. 1919-1939 this region came under Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 yrs. Post WW2 this region became a part of SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain until 1991, when Ukraine became independent. Have you done any archival research for SIeniawa? What religion did family practice? Your ancestral village still exists. Address to Village Administrator: Holovi Silskoji Rady Selo Sieniava Zbarazhskij raion Ternopilska oblast Ukraine, 47352 |
