Metrykal Data For Ukraine Available Online

June 23, 2007, the Mormon Church broke ground for a new temple in Kyiv
Ukraine. It will be finished in 2009.

Part of the preparation for the opening is that the LDS Church, which
currently has several microfilm and two digital cameras filming metrykal
records in Ukraine, is also planning an indexing program for those records.
They plan to convert everything to digital. When the temple opens in 2009,
the LDS Library hopes to have tens of millions of names ready for search online.

Researchers w/interest in their Ukrainian roots will finally have online
access to genealogical data. This is very exciting news!!!
