I'm trying to look for any GUTNIK who lives or has lived in Naroditchi, a small village 133 miles from Kiev.
Maybe some of them have migrated to other towns, including Kiev, or abroad. Any information will be thanked. Joe. |

Hello Joe,
Still at it? I admire your perseverance. There are 51 Гутник 's listed in Kiev & environs White Pages. I did try Gutnyk first, but got no results. Then I substituted H for G sound, something frequently done in Ukrainian when transliterating from Russian. Copy Гутник into Surname/Фамилия box and click search/искать. 09 Kiev 09 Kiev |

Joe,
I'm not sure if there is a great difference in the rules in Moscow Archives, as much as in the cost. I have heard the cost to be as high as $500 USD per single search??? I do know that some of the Archives are currently closed for the purpose of gleaning out materials, that eventually might be returned to countries of origin. How true any of this is, is difficult to say. The same was also promised five yrs ago. Military Archives Archives Knowing how thorough you are, you have probably already gone route below. Is it true that many villagers are following their old grandmothers and returning to the Chernobyl area? |
