Lukasiewicz, Skalski, Zielinki

I would like to get in touch with people called Lukasiewicz, Skalski or Zielinski, whose ancestors were connected with Luck and Kiev between 1860 – 1940.

My grandmother, Felicja Lukasiewicz was born on 18-07-1898 in Luck. She was the only child of Klemens & Julia Lukasiewicz (maiden name Zielinska). Julia’s parents or maybe grandparents lived in Cmielow. I am not sure but I think Julia’s mother was called Marianna Zielinska (maiden name Skalska). I know they were very closely related to priest Teofil Aleksander Skalski, who was born in 1877 in Kiryjowka near Olgopol na Podolu and who was a parish-priest between 1913-1925.

My grandmother, Felicja Lukasiewicz together with her parents moved to Kiev. There, she met Stanislaw Piekarski who, in some unknown to me way, was very closely related to Felicja’s mother’s ancestors. Felicja & Stanislaw got married some time between 1914-1917 and in 1920 they moved to Chelm in Poland. Felicja’s parents stayed in Kiev and consequently Felicja never saw her mother again, although her father visited her once in Chelm in approx. 1925. After that, they had no further contact. I don’t know when exactly or where Felicja’s parents died.

Please contact me if you bear one of the above names or if you are related to my family in any way.

Many thanks

Barbara

I am assuming that your Grandmother and her family were Poles.

You need to create documentation. Oral history is too vague.

For example Lutsk was the capital of the Vohlynskaya Gubernia > Czarist Russia and Kiev was/is the capital of Kievskaya Gubernia, which WAS even larger than it is today. At the time your GGrandparents migrated to Kiev, the city proper had a population of well over 600,000.

Were Grandmother's parents educators?

Was GGrandfather Roman Catholic or Christian Orthodox?

Let me give your info some thought and present you w/possible ways to conduct your search. Historical knowledge will play an important part in how to proceed.
