I went to the ltyr.de wbsite to do more searches through the Hamburg passenger lists and was dismayed to find out that you now have to search at ancestry.com or .ca and nowhere NEAR the information is provided.

You get a name only and which ports your ancestors travelled through or stopped at. You have to get a paid subscription to find out if you are on the right track!!

I really wish they hadn't done that...

I had the same problem so I just purchased the Pay-Per-View Price PPV 14 Day
(10 Credits) for CDN $5.95 at Ancestry.ca which gives you the ability to view any additional information for a document if there is any to confirm you are on the right track, without using a credit by actually viewing the document. If you want to view the document you can save it to your computer otherwise you will only be able to view the same document or 10 in total for 14 days when the Pay-Per-View expires.

Doing this several times if required is still cheaper and less hassle then a membership since you already know where and what kind of records you want to view.
