It seems the Konasiewiczes of the town were mainly craftspeople working in leather.
I don't know the origin of this name or what it means. Mainly I wanted to stress that there was another family of this name in the general area. And you never know how people may be connected unless you ask the question!
If I don't reply soon it is because I will be out of town, but I am still very interested and will get back to this forum soon.

Hi ,
My name is Stefan Konasiewicz. My father ,who died in 1984, was born in Bialy Kamien (Bilyi Kamen) in the Ukraine in 1926. His name was Markian (Marian) Konasiewicz. His mother's name was Katherina (Sviderski)and she died in the Ukraine in 1985 I believe. His father's name was Stefan Konasiewicz and he died in Canada in an explosion in Ontario , Canada I believe.
My father emigrated to Canada in 1951. I think that he had a brother named Michael, but I am not sure.
I think that I have relatives in Canada and the USA but i am not sure. Does anyone have any more info so that I can continue my genealogical search.
