Vodka

Well, I don't know where to begin. I found this web site by doing a Google search for Nastoika. Why am I looking for Nastoika?!?!?! Well obviously, I want to make sure I've been making it the right way for the past 10 years. Apparently, its a closely guarded secret and that's fine with me.

I am born and raised in San Francisco, California and that makes me THE source for Nastoika knowledge...J/K. I belong to a very large and tight Russian community who's ancestry is directly linked to Imperial Czarist Russia. Accordingly, I can only assume that our recipes are true and accurate.

I keep hearing everyne referring to Nastoika's, whether they are Zhubrovka, Pertsovka, Chocolate or other. All I can say is that if you have never tried them, you don't know what you are missing. I have introduced these flavored vodka flavors to many of my "American" friends and they have all converted!! You would be surprised what many of them will pay for a bottle of Blueberry Vodka.

As for the chocolate, its one of the best. Different than the others but as good if not better.

If anyone is in the Bay Area in February and would lik to sample some Flavored Vodkas (Chocolate included), you should stop by the Russian Festival in San Francisco. There are typically 10-15 different flavors of Vodka available, along with very Zakuzka you can imagine. Here are some pics: http://www.russiancentersf.com/event_album.htm

Having said that, I am on my way home to prepare for Easter. As many of you know, its this weekend (Russian Orthodox) and I have about twenty bottles of Nastoika ready to be drunk.

Na zhdarovie!!

Sergei-
