Home bar-be-qued steaks, chicken legs, sweetcorn and mixed salad!
Why is this so special -
because for me there's only about 3 days in the year that it's good enough weather to do it !!

Greetings John,
Come on DOWN. This morning the temperature was in the low 60s. It went up to 82 this afternoon. We just came in from a walk. It's back to around 68. Hurry because this will change. Even then, you can always BBQ.

Hi, I see that all of you have a very good taste...! UUmmm Yammy! Talking about food makes me feel hungry.
Thursday we had a very nice house party and since both are working we had to buy some food from the restaurant. I eat just a little bit and until now my stomackache wouldn't go. Yes, I guess sometimes excess of good food can make you sick...I even had fever....Poor me!
So now I am not eating anything, only drinking water and reading your postings and thinking about all the great food in the world (that I can only dream of now!).

One regret is that I never tried salo. It just was not served when I was there. I did try shuba, though... it was not my cup of tea! We had it for dinner one night, then it was kept over for breakfast the next day. (It was winter... put it out on the balcony!) I could not face it first thing in the morning...

I love borscht, and veriniky (however you spell it.)

I would love to know what all these dishes are...could you please describe the ingredients because what I may call something you may call something another name. What is something I should surely try when I come to the Ukraine?
I have to say my favorite food is grilled fish with rice and ice cream for desert. If only ice cream was good for our health!!
Love, Christie

Hello Cristie.
My meal was Selyodka pod shuboy. It comes in layers. I'll start from the bottom: onions, herring, potatoes, eggs, beets. Each layer has mayonnaise in it. Yam-yam. I just tried that on thirsday. That was May 4th.

Regards...
