Although I hate to interfer in the kitchen, because I am seldom at home, the things are called, V ykpaiihi, Varenuku.
Here, we come to a problem re eating. Even though I was taught to honour the sacrifice re breaking bread & drinking wine pretending to be blood, I discivered in my research that, other people thought that this was "cannibalismm. Not only that, I discovered that people made jokes about a thing called a " Last Supper". Some of them actually made jokes about: eg You sure they didn't actually eat J.C. at the last supper (after all you pretend you eat him every Sunday). or Which body part do you think St. John, ate the spleen? So I had to go back to basics. After all, you can't sell cannibalism to the world, and think you can get away with it. I have stuck to the 10 Comandments ever since. I personally hate varenuke with cabbage. They taste like Brussel Sprouts (one of my Chinese customers, years ago, called them 'baby cabbage'.) Any other vareneke I can handle. Volodya987 |

I put up some recipes on the website, http://www.ukrainianforum.cjb.net. It's the recipe that my mom uses, and I think they're great. It's under the food link.
