Hello Zbyszek - These mushrooms grow abundantly in my city. They are very sensitive to chemicals, particularly DDT, so it is a good sign that you have seen them. My Baba, God rest her soul, was very familiar with them and says they were abundant in her region of Ukraine, but I can't recall her using a particular name for them beyond the generic "hryby".
I asked my husband if he knows of them in and around Kiev. He said he remembers them as a child, he and his cousin would pick a few kilos in 20 minutes (within Kiev), but the mushrooms disappeared in the 1960's when DDT was used a great deal. He says they reappeared in the early 1990's outside of the city, but only in small numbers. He can't recall the Ukrainian name, but I'll get back to you if he remembers it. |

11 microns versas 15 microns
Regarding the radiation from mushrooms in the Chernoboyl area, just today my husband was there and he does tours to Chernoboyl and has his own new geege metre they tested 11 micromons, 40km from Chern and they can be tested in KIEV markets from babashukas selling them and we have found them to be as high as 15 micromons, so pls dont think that everything in the Chern area are high YES some things are and some are not you need to test them first, so least to say I'm picking 3kgs of 11 micromons of white mushrooms.
