Question

I'm not sure this post belongs here but what the hey...

Twice a year I fast for three days to clean out my body and I'm just wondering if anyone else does this and if you have any special settings or preparations?

Hi Holland................I guess this is as good a place as any....hehehe.

I have fasted for 2 different reasons.........but not often, or even as regularly as you. I understand your reasoning and many would agree entirely with you.

I fasted - at least to the point of just eating small amounts of fruit and drinking vast amounts of water - when I was told earlier this year that I had an incurable cancer. I planned to just eat the best fruit, keep the water intake high and also I started to use Laetrile/B17 vitamin (generally banned....! )and so I needed a good, courageous base to set off on this new (I was told 'short') stage of my life.

Some of it changed around when (and I can only put it simply and humbly- you can read it on the religion board) God took a hand in my life and healed me. However, I now appreciate the sense of looking after my body more than I did before and I eat and drink accordingly.

The other reason for fasting is purely a religious one, in that - it is clear in the Bible that God recognises when we are trying very hard to get His attention for something. It is not natural to purposely refuse our bodies food - to do so shows definite intent - and so I have fasted for up to 48 hours when I am really seeking God's help, or action on something that is very important to me. I appreciate that this is a very personal thing, but you asked the question - and I have answered it with sincerity.

Best wishes,
Andrew

Once again another one of your posts makes me smile. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through all that. My gramma just went through cancer treatment at 87 years of age... she beat it, which blows us all away!

What can I say, I liked everything you said
