Kathy,
I have re-thought taking them with me. They would stay fresh, but I found and tried a recipe to make them there, so that is what I will do. More authentic too! As far as gifts, I have a bottle of Chanel #5 perfume as a gift. Since I own a trading post next to the Navajo indian reservation, I though I would take some hand made Navajo items as well. What do you think?

Good to know about the shoes as well. Good inside info!

bm, If it were a problem, I was going to say they were my snacks for the 21 hour flight, but now I won't have to.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Less than three weeks to go!

73w,

Kyiv is not a wasteland when it comes to restaurants, especially in the last few yrs. There is a place on Spaska vulytsia that
serves up burritos, enchiladas and chichimangas. The name is Tequila House.

Kathy,
She is meeting me at the airport in Kiev and we will spend 2 days there, then fly to Sevestopol. In trying to learn this whole cultural difference thing, perfume may be to personal. I will ask her this Thursday when I call. Kind of gives away the suprise though!

Hannia,
Thanks for the tip. I will look them up when I get there. Maybe I won't have to cook fajitas after all! That would make a nice evening out before heading south.

bm,
I have alot of hand made Navajo jewelry, pottery, kachinas, rugs etc. Should be able to figure something out that would be pleasing as well as a converstion piece.

Thanks guys for the input. Keep it coming!

hey 73w,

It could be just me (not into Mexican food much myself), but i haven't seen too many Mexican food places in Kiev. There is lot's of good sushi places though. Sushiya and Planeta Sushi are quite okey, and located in the center. If you're into Italian food, Il Patio is a safe choice.

Have fun in Ukraine
