Really nice video about the group of babyshkas that volunteer every week to raise money for the Ukrainian church and school.
This video is by the New York Times Enjoy it! Working Through Tough Times | New York Times Video Description: Despite age and infirmity, the Ukrainian women who hand-roll dumplings for their church in New York's East Village soldier on. I know it's been 9 months since this initialy was posted, but I saw it today and have to say, wow!
Not for the Varenyky, because we all know how good those are. But, for the work ethic and the principles behind our Ukrainian communities. I'm sure all of us at that 35yr+ age range see our parents or Grandparents in that video. I know it brought back a few memories for me. -Marko |

Thanks for that guys.
I live maybe 45 min from that place and around it used to be a few other Ukrainian cafe's, some a shutting down, but i think this place will stay. I just hope more will do what they do when they retire from their positions. |
