Please remove me from being a moderator. This I believe is Lukas's reaction to me asking you guys 'what's going on' on the religion board. As explained, I have neither the time, the expertise (I honestly only use my PC as a word processor - I have no computor knowledge) and my post was a request to you and Lukas to re-think and a call to others to come back and try again.

I am currently trying to run to your rules. If I were a moderator, I would start from a completely different place and be in trouble with you within days. I don't want this.

I would appreciate your consideration here.,

And now ...it's now....and I'm trying to see this with a sense of humour, because I really can't take you seriously.

I'm off for 4 days....may get to a kit - maybe not, but I am not as of now - a Moderator. I want to remain a member - and see nothing wrong in that desire, but that's as far as I can manage. I've had some time on my hands tonight due to a cancelled meeting and a tollerant wife, but neither of those things can be guarranteed

Please accept my position. To membership I am committed - to Moderatorship I'm neither qualified, willing, or committed.

And it was MY idea to make you a moderator and no one else on this board has the wherewithall to do that but me.

And I did it for a reason.

If you have all this time to grab DV by the collar and slap him in a chair and lecture him on how to do the thankless, pissy job of moderating, tell him where he is failing and HOW FAR HE HAS FAILED, I thought perhaps your time would be better spent HELPING HIM.

That does - at least - clear that up. Appreciated. I hear what you say - and why.

However, my reasons for not accepting the position have not changed. The fact that I've had a little extra timne on my hands - and the fact that Lukas has been < use whatever word you like here - 'cause whatever I use will be chewed up and spat back at me > means that I've been a bit more vocal than usual.

To be bland about it - I'm fed up of being accused of doing / being something I believe is unjustly stated......by someone who immediately replicates what he accuses me of. CastleStormer saw it and laughed (the 'cloak of righteousness' posts, hehehe).....but no-one appears to tell D-V how far he can go...... and yet I'm hit time and again wih a rod of iron.

To help Lukas means that I must sympathise with him, agree with his methods and be able to back him up on all serious matters. I can't do that....not because I don't like him, but because we have such widely divergent thoughts of 'what complies' with VCI rules. I would not only allow, but partake in a number of threads that I would consider perfectly sound.....but it appears that I'm wrong, so that' that ! I'm not yu'man, sorry.

No Niquie, I appreciate your trust in me - although it springs from a certain frustration I know - but this boat won't float, so I respectfully ask that you remove my name from the list of moderators. I thank you in anticipation.

....that is at the root of the problem.

The rules are not ambiguous, Andrew, and they are not open to debate. I have stated over and over again what will be allowed and what won't be allowed, particularly in the Religion board.

After 9-11, VCI was a refuge for people whose anguish and hurt paved the way for those consumed with hate and bigotry -- all while spouting religious doctrine of one sort or another. And sadly, most of that hate and bigotry came from two camps with one name: FUNDAMENTALISTS.

I had to make a decision on how these boards would operate so that they could stay up and running. Lukas, despite what you may think of his tactics, is adhereing to those rules and is taking the time, the effort and the crap thrown at him to make it crystal clear to EVERYONE what is and what is not acceptable.

He has also taken his fair share of Catholic bashing and I know this to be a fact because I have read it -- over and over again. The offensive members may think they are being subtle, but they give themselves too much credit. It's mean, it's uncalled for and it's downright UNCHRISTIAN.

And Andrew, I can smell a coup. Frankly, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on, especially when certain VCI members post from forum to forum. You can almost predict who is going to post what, when and where.

Now, I suggest you and your friends build or patronize an evangelical site where you can preach and evangelize to your hearts' content. But I assure you, it will not be tolerated here. This is no one's church, temple or mosque.

And VCI appreciates your membership and appreciates your adhereing to the rules -- for the sake and consideration of every member, despite their race, creed, nationality or gender, however bent or "redistricted" it may be.
