Question

Am I the only one that has to log in every time when I want to do a post?
It’s very inconvenient and annoying, I know that on other boards I don’t have to continuously type my user name and password and I stay logged in forever even after I close and again open my computer.
By the way I’m using Opera, and I suspect the problem is with the site. Is there any way to fix it?

It really depends on two things:
1. your browser and how you set it up to run, it may be set not to remember any passwords or password for this patricular site.
2. You could have chosen at some point not to remember password for our forums.

In either case I never used Opera, so I can't help much there, just dig into it. But the site is fine since I access it frewuently and from a variety of different browsers (Netscape, IE, Mozilla, Gnome are the ones that I tried) and all works fine.
Good luck.

Hi Candle, if you have the Internet Explore 5/6, your user name and password should be partly remembered, i.e. you write a first letter of your username, a default prompt will appear suggesting your full username, along with the password. I use Windows 98 or W2K and this works fine in both cases.

Don't give up yet!

If you are using IE, try this, go to
-Tools
-Internet Options
-Advanced
-Check "Inline AutoComplete"

OR: (even Better
-Tools
-Internet Options
-Content
-Click the button "AutoComplete" and check all the things in there including "prompt to remember passwords"

That should do,
Good luck

PS. By the way why are you using Opera? what's so good about it that people are willing to pay money for?

Thanks V-G. That’s the problem that I have those options checked and it’s not working. That is why I was suspecting the site. But now I’m suspecting my computer, it’s about the time when it start acting funny, I really need to clean lots of things, and Norton is not helping anymore. It may be that I have too much junk on my hearthdrive.

About Opera, I’m using just a free version. No paid version for me simply cose for me it is enough. Why? Just a less noisy solution against popup stopper. Opera manages to have all the windows in one place cascading one behind the other so they’re not scattered all over the monitor and in my case all over both monitors. You see I’m a member of few groups on the net and that means that every time when I’m clicking on a link to go to the thread there are 10 windows popping up like crazy. With popup stopper it sounds like a gun machine gone off, with Opera it’s quiet.

A question for this website experts. Why do BookVAre symbols come out looking like a baby Greek, a split big Greek and a cross between Grotesk Romanian and Romanish? You definately need the backwards spelt R, the Yoo, the mouth with a snake for its tongue, the E crawling in on its back and hooking itself into your backyard, the headless man, the tombstone and the 2 faced king.
eg ÉÖÓÊÅÍÃØÙÇÕ¯Ô²ÂÀÏÐÎËÄƪß×ÑÌÈÒÜÁÞ.
Although I like the Celtic rune A stuck to E
