After examining the forums, it becomes apparent that some contributors misconstrue the PURPOSE or the INTENT of some FORUMS. There are examples of CHAFF parading as a serious THREAD. In the absense of self-discipline by those contributors, what is apparently missing, is an effective administrative oversight to separate the CHAFF from the TOPICAL inputs.

One small way, to relieve the situation, would be to segregate the CHATROOM BANTER forums from the SERIOUS DISCOURSE ones. Absent any such attempt, on the part of the Administration, the anarchy will take over.

Post GENERAL CLEANUP NOTED

I wonder what criteria are being applied in the process of elimination, currently going on, on these boards?

Hello Members!

I am the new Administrator for Ukraine.com. In the next few months, I hope to appoint a few Moderators to help out the site a bit. StasUA is doing a fine job; however, there are many forums still in need of a Moderator's presence.

Why do we need Moderators?

Moderators help generate new discussions while keeping the current discussions on topic. They will have the ability to delete "spam" and edit any posts containing vulgar or hateful language. Ukraine.com does have an Acceptable Use Policy which all members agree to upon registration. Moderators simply help enforce those policies.

If you would like to apply to be a Moderator or would like to suggest a fair, tolerant member that would make a good Moderator, then please contact me, boards@ukraine.com. Or, click on the Moderator tab in any of the Community pages.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thumbs up THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS

A good starting point would be to hear the Administration's or a Moderator's direct and poignant answers to the questions raised in the preceding posts. General rules notwithstanding, I remain mystified as to how adherence to the rules is maintained, who decides on the cancellation of a string of threads, who, if anyone, evaluates the critical or constructive comments, etc.

I can go on, and on - but without any direct feedback, I feel like a wanderer in the wilderness.

Thumbs up A PARTICULAR CONUNDRUM

WHO and on WHAT BASIS decided to eliminate one of my threads titled POLITICS TOWARDS UKRAINE? I will refrain from conjecturing, pending a plausible explanation.

SPAMMING?

Being a mere novice on the Internet, the definition of "SPAMMING" escapes me. I may entertain an idea of what it is, however, your explanation would resolve any doubts.

Hello Norrym,

1)
You, like every other member to this site, agreed to abide to our policies in exchange for our services. You may review these policies here: http://www.ukraine.com/community/mbd.html

2)
As for your "Politics towards Ukraine", a thread with this title is clearly there. Moderators only edit when posts violate the policies in which they were appointed to uphold (see above).

3)
Spamming can be defined in many ways. In generic terms, any unauthorized advertising is considered to be spam.

Please take the time to review our policies, the answers to your questions are there. Once additional Moderators are appointed, then you will have more resources to utilize. Until then, please feel free to email the current Moderator, or post here.

Kind Regards,
