I do not understand why SJoyce should consider this or any thread appicable relating to Human Rights in Ukraine to be offensive.
As an Englishman I would not be offended if I saw a thread or blog entitled "Human Rights in the UK".
I recognise that the maintenance of human rights is a difficult issue. It is said that one person's human human rights is an impingement upon someone else's values or liberties. For example, immigration is such an issue. The issue of a matter of a foreigner to be granted right of abode in your country is a matter of concern for that persons human rights. But for an indigenous native of that land it can be viewed as detrimental, as it increases demand on available housing, job vacancies and access to limited health resources.
By raising the matter of human rights in any particular country, should not be viewed as particular criticism of that country political regime or culture. It should be viewed as a platform from which the balances of plus and minus can be evaluated, perhaps referring to another country and how they treat a particular issue by way of a comparison.
