If you've heard about bird's flu epidemic in the Crimea, it would be interesting for you to know that so far from abating, the epidemic spread in neighbouring Georgia. The matter is that Ukrainian authorities tried to becloud fact of epidemic beginning because such information might seriously damage smooth running of important summit, held between EU and Ukraine on the territory of this country early December. During 2 month before the summit and up to concluding this top-level meeting sights of numerous dead birds' carcasses, thrown promiscuously together at bare places, in earth canals and on local riversides became familiar for those who live there. And when first special-purpose motor convoys appeared for immediate collecting of these heaps and introducing the quarantine in the Crimea, the epidemiologic situation got out of control. Now I hold information about ingress of contamination together with virus into offshore zone of the Black Sea. And ecologists point at increase in frequency of larine birds' and even fish kill. Moreover, new data about spreading of bird's flu virus came to hand from Georgia. But, as usual, all stories, appeared in Georgian televiews and devoted to avicide there, were decisively negated and taken off the air. It seems to me soon we'll become witnesses of Crimean tragedy repeating in Georgia…
