Aspirations of the Ukrainian People

Hi there all,
I have been given a project from school to find out the apsirations of the Ukrainian People. The truth is I don't know where to start what with being over in the UK. So I would be grateful if some of you could all send a reply so that I could get a general feeling that I could put into my project.
The project doesn't just stop there I also need to know what affecct the Ukraine has on the international Community.
I thank you all for help with my project. I'll be letting you all know when I get an A grade
