Question

You have probably all heard of the tragedy of the Russian "Kursk" ship...What happened was really dreadful...Both the tragedy and the politics of the Russian government. They did not react. They didn't accept any foreign help. Putin left for his holidays on Saturday afternnon. The same time the government learnt of the tragedy. They lied. They deceived the families of the crue. I can't understand that. Is it such a shame to ask for help especially when such a trasdegy happens? Isn't it a bigger shame to lie in order to...? Yeah, what? To make the word believ that Russia is still powerful? The word already knows it's not...To make it silent and make people not aware about it? We're not in the middle ages, sooner or later (rather sooner) we would learn...Didn't Russia learn its lesson after Tschernobyl? Gorbatschov made the same mistake. i can't understand the present situation. I am really disgusted with what Putin and his "band" did...What is your opinion on that? Why did they beghave the way they behaved???

It is a sad situation Beata, but in all fairness to Russia, from what I understand, after watching an american Admiral's interview on the subject, Russia is the world leader in this kind of technology.

To ask for assistance from other countries is like borrowing an axe to cut down a tree when you have a chain saw. If would have been futile.

Greetings, and I'm glad to see you both post here again

I support your view on this, Beata. Today I've read in russian newspaper, that russian-government knew that everybody were dead from the very beginning, that's why they didn't care much about saving anyone, because on the next morning there weren't anyone to save.

But why did they lie? There isn't any smart answer for this question, or there is?

Dear Dear Lilly,
You knew that I was going to have to respond to your CHAINSAW theory. I still hold that
the Salvation Army could and would kick the Russian Military in the butt. Particularly in their present condition. The Kursk is just another example of their in-aptitude.
Don't get me wrong, I think that we need a strong Russian Military. Without the fear of a strong Russia, some idiot in the USA might start something. How are things with you? I was in Cincinnati last Friday. Did you have
hick-ups? I saw an airplane from the SERB
AIRLINES in Budapest. It had to Serb. It had hair under it's wings. The quiz for the day is as follows: What European Capitol was formally called: Nandorfehervar? Let me hear from you.
Good Luck.

I know it's kind of late now and that this topic isn't "live" but I've been away for some time and now I'd like to write what I think...So, I agree with those opinions that say that "Kursk" was shot by some other Russian ship, Peter The Great as far as I remember. Of course the Russians will never say it's true as it would indicate that the stuff they have, the equipment on the ships is out-of-date. Well, that's true, at least partialy...The Russians often don't care about the basic things like hiring professional divers, not to menton changing the ecquipment for some new...But...There is this second thing, quite contrary ot what I wrote earlier but I also agree with that one...The Russians lied so much and made the rescue operation so hard as some new technology was being tested on Kursk. I know it's kind of "cold-war-like" accusation but even specialists say it might have been so and I think it was so...What's your opinion on the topic? What the specialists in your caoutnry say about it after the time that passed?
Looking forward to your replies,
Beata

Greetings,
There are reports of a request by the Russian Military for the inspection of the two American Submarines that were in the area. They want to inspect the HULLS to see if there were any recent repairs performed
on them. The request was rejected. THE PLOT
THICKENS.
Good Luck

I don't think the Russian Government is too clever. Since the morse code messages were going on for 4 days. They didn't react because they didn't want the new torpedo found. Janes Military Weekly is more informed then the damn Government of Russian Federation.

Putin has fired most of the command by now. Those corrupt communist biggots don't care about a crew of 99 men. Because they only try to save their own skin.

BTW I don't see whats the reason that everyone has a damn grin in their post!
